Overview
Schooner is a local-first application. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data remains on your Mac.
Data we do not collect
- Your SSH hostnames, credentials, or keys
- The contents of files you transfer
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports (unless you explicitly submit one)
- Your name, email address, or any account information
Data stored on your device
Schooner stores the following data locally on your Mac, in locations you control:
~/.ssh/config— your SSH host definitions (standard OpenSSH file)~/Library/Application Support/Schooner/schooner.sqlite— nicknames, tags, notes, SSH key records, backup snapshots, and trust relationships
None of this data leaves your device unless you explicitly copy or sync it yourself (e.g. via iCloud Drive or Syncthing).
Network connections
Schooner makes outbound network connections only to servers that you explicitly configure and connect to. The app itself does not contact any Schooner-operated server for any purpose.
Third-party services
Schooner does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services.
